Bike/Walk to Work Day

With the price of gasoline soaring, Bike/Walk to Work Day, which will be held Friday, May 19, has never been more timely. The annual national event is intended to heighten the awareness of bicycling and walking as healthy and environmentally friendly commuting options. As in previous years, Dartmouth encourages faculty and staff to take part in this worthwhile effort.

Free breakfasts will be provided to Upper Valley participants by the Town of Hanover Department of Recreation and Parks, the Hartford Parks and Recreation Department, the City of Lebanon Parks and Recreation Department, and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Participants who register at a breakfast will be eligible for prize drawings.

The event is free and open to the public. Dartmouth community members who live too far away to bike or walk to work are welcome to stop by the breakfasts to show their support.

More information about the breakfast locations and the sign-up process is available on the Web site.
