The Nineteenth Annual Presidential Lecture

Elsa Garmire, the Sydney E. Junkins 1887 Professor of Engineering, will deliver the Nineteenth Annual Presidential Lecture. The Presidential Lecture Series was established in the fall of 1987 to recognize the contributions of outstanding members of the Dartmouth faculty. Garmire's lecture, "Who Would Have Imagined? From an Idea to Reality-the Parallel Growth of Lasers and a Woman Scientist," will be followed by a reception at Cummings in the Great Hall at the Thayer School of Engineering.
