The 26th Annual Book and Author Event will be held in the Daniel Webster Room of the Hanover Inn on Tuesday, Oct. 19 to benefit Hopkins Center outreach programs. Breakfast will be at 8 a.m. ($30), and lunch will be at 12 p.m. ($38). Melinda and Bob Blanchard will speak on their latest book, At Blanchard's Table; Christopher Wren will speak on Walking to Vermont: From Times Square into the Green Mountains - a Homeward Adventure; and Mathew Wilson will speak on The Land of War Elephants: Travels Beyond the Pale in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. The event is sponsored by The Friends of the Hopkins Center and Hood Museum of Art. For tickets or more information call 646-2006. Registration is due Friday, Oct. 15.
