The Classical Association of New England (CANE) Summer Institute will bring nine lectures and an array of minicourses to Dartmouth from Tuesday, July 6, to Saturday, July 10, as part of the 22nd annual  institute, "The Course of Empire."  The opening lecture, by Robert McGrath, Professor of Art History, Emeritus, will open the institute with a lecture titled "The Course of Empire: Paintings of Thomas Cole, 1834-1836." All lectures are free and open to the public. More information is online at www.caneweb.org. Classrooms have yet to be assigned for the lectures.
