Mark ErikssonSpin Coherence in Silicon: Can the Material of the Present Also be the Material of the Future?

"One of the interesting aspects of the information technology revolution is that it has been driven by a small number of materials," noted Mark Eriksson of the University of Wisconsin. Eriksson will address whether conventional information technology materials such as silicon are good choices for quantum information processing and discuss experiments that explore new materials possibilities.
