Adjunct Assistant Professor of Studio Art John Kemp Lee
presented a show of sculpture titled Off Target at the Kouros
Gallery in New York City from February 17 to March 19, 2005. Lee
manipulated and patinated metals, primarily lead, steel and brass, to
create his minimalist wall sculptures. The Kouros Gallery said Lee
"captures both the meditative essence and the elemental forces of
nature, and creates a matrix of color and texture to portray industrial
space." This is Lee's second exhibition at the Kouros Gallery.
He has previously exhibited his works at the American Academy of
Arts and Letters and The Blue Mountain Gallery, both in New York City,
and the EXPOSITVM Gallery in Mexico City, Mexico, among other
places. He received the Vermont Council on the Arts Individual Artist
Grant in 2001 and 2004.
