Professor and Chair of Studio Art Colleen Randall will be exhibiting her collection New Paintings at The Painting Center in New York, N.Y. from March 1-26. An opening reception will be held Saturday, March 3 from 6-8 p.m. "In this new body of work, the expressive color and textured surfaces evoke the physical world to probe its spiritual essence," commented Randall, who employs heavily impastoed, multi-layered surfaces to investigate elusive states of consciousness. This is Randall's second exhibition at The Painting Center, which was founded in 1993 by a group of painters who saw the need for a public space dedicated solely to the exhibition of paintings. Randall has been exhibiting her paintings for more than 20 years and was honored in 2002 with the National Academy of Design's Edwin Palmer Memorial Award for painting. The Painting Center is located at 52 Greene Street, 2nd Floor and is open Tues.-Sat. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. For more information call 212-343-1060 or visit
