Farewell to a friend

Christina Porter '06 memorial held in New York

Christina Porter '06 died on Jan. 16 after a long struggle with a head injury sustained while skiing last winter. She was 21 years old. Memorial and interment services were held for her at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in New York, N.Y. on Sunday, Mar. 6. Christina was a gifted voice and art student at Dartmouth who planned to major in Art History and French. She sang with the Glee Club and the Subtleties, an a capella group.

The Christina Fund for Head Trauma has been established by her family to support advocacy of preventive measures and of research of recovery methods, including experimental therapy in music and art. The Fund held its first benefit event on Feb. 8 at the Pratt Manhattan Center in New York. For more information on the Fund, see: www.thechristinafund.com.
