Remembering those we have lost

Dartmouth flag at half-staff

The Dartmouth flag is lowered to half-mast when a member of the community passes away. It is a mark of respect that honors the life of an individual and offers others the opportunity to reflect on that individual's relationship to the College. To provide those on campus as well as those far from Hanover with information about flag lowerings past and present, a new "In Memoriam" website is available that contains basic information and, when available, links to full obituary notices. The site also details the policies that govern the lowering of the Dartmouth flag, as well as the circumstances under which the United States flag is set at half-mast.
