Former presidential candidate and Vermont governor Howard Dean will discuss "The Long-Term Implications of the 2004 Presidential Election" in a free lecture at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, in Kellogg Auditorium. The speech is the first in a series of visits that Dean will make to campus through November as a Rockefeller Center Class of 1930 distinguished visiting fellow. The lecture is open to the public.
In addition to his April speech, Dean will return to campus for two days each in June, July and August, then will deliver another lecture in November after the presidential election. While on campus this summer, he will spend time with students in a variety of activities still to be determined. Dates for his summer and fall visits have not been announced yet.
Dean's fellowship is part of the Rockefeller Center's year-long series titled "Civic Responsibility: Personal Action - Public Impact," which marks the organization's 20th anniversary. Although he withdrew from the presidential race in February, Dean has continued his drive for grassroots political organizing through his new organization, Democracy for America.
