Ethan Dmitrovsky, the Andrew G. Wallace Professor in the Dartmouth Medical School Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, will discuss "Treating Cancer through Prevention Mechanisms" on Wednesday, Feb. 11, for Dartmouth's 17th annual Presidential Lecture. Free and open to the public, the lecture will begin at 4 p.m. in Filene Auditorium, Moore Hall. Dartmouth President James Wright will host the lecture and introduce the speaker. Dmitrovsky, who also chairs his department and served as acting dean of the medical school from 2002 to 2003, has been a DMS faculty member since 1998. His laboratory focuses on mechanisms of human tumor differentiation to improve cancer therapy and prevention. The Presidential Lecture Series was established in the fall of 1987 to recognize the contributions of outstanding members of the Dartmouth faculty and to share the intellectual interests that drive the lecturer's research and teaching.
