Online Multimedia Assignment Form

If you're interested in assigning a multimedia project such as a video, audio, or poster project, please fill out the following online form. But first, be sure to read the information on the 'Preparing' page.

Even if you only have a rough idea of what you'd like to do, write it down. Once your form is submitted, we will be contacting you for an in person consultation. From helping you to conceptualize the assignment, to technical training and support, and all the way to helping you book a room for screening your final projects, we're here to assist you and your students throughout the entire process.

If you find that you cannot yet answer these questions, please contact Susan Simon, in Curricular Computing, for assistance.

The Assignment

Please give a detailed description of the assignment. What is your main objective in assigning this project? What do you hope your students will gain?

Training and Support

Please indicate which type of training you and your class will require.
Checking out and working with video cameras
Video editing (iMovie, iPhoto, iTunes, and GarageBand)
Image editing (Photoshop Elements)
Audio editing (Audacity)
Finding resources online such as images, video, microformats, etc.
Other. Please specify.

If your students will be collecting a large amount of images, video or audio files we can set up a temporary server space. Students can store their files on the server instead of on their personal computers. The server will be accessible from any location on campus.
Would you like to have a server space reserved for your project? Yes No

Timeline

It is important that you set a timeline for the project. We suggest that the due date NOT be during the last week of classes. The Jones Media Center is very busy at that time which makes it difficult for students to edit their projects.

When will your students be working on their projects; i.e. what weeks in the term? Please supply the dates as well.

What day will the final projects be due?

Screening the Final Projects

Will you be screening your projects during class or would you like to offer an evening screening? Some classes have taken the 'film festival' approach and have booked a large, smart classroom for an evening of video projects. If your students have included people in the project who are not enrolled in your course this gives everyone the opportunity to see the videos on 'the big screen' and get feedback. Popcorn or pizza is up to you!

Would you like assistance in reserving a large room for screening the final video projects? Yes No
