Coaches
Head Coach: Brook Martin
Brook started coaching the Pain Train in the 2010-2011 season.
"I started playing ultimate in 1989 on an intramural team while attending the University of Oregon. The following years, from 1990-1993, I played at a competitive level for the University of Oregon, and won the UPA College Series Championship in 1992 along the way. My open division experience spans from 1992 to 2004 with many highlights, including a 1997 World Championship and a 2004 UPA Open Division Championship with Seattle Sockeye. Sockeye's first national title in 2004 was particularly rewarding because I was a co-captain during this year that overseeing substantial changes in both personnel and strategy. In 2006, I formed the Masters division team Throwback, which won the 2006 UPA Masters Division Championship. Throughout my years of playing ultimate, I have participated on teams that have won most of the major Northwest region (or formerly West Region) tournaments (including California State Championships, Labor Day, Davis Ultimate Invitational, Fools West, and New Years Fest, Emerald City Classic, Potlatch, and many smaller tournaments - too numerous to count)
Today I am more excited about coaching. My coaching experience includes serving as the head coach for DiscNW's Youth Club Championship team in 2008 & 2009 (winning UPA YCC National championship in both years); Coach of Seattle Sockeye in 2005 (national runner up); Head Coach of the University of Washington Mens Ultimate Team 2003-2006 (making quarterfinals of nationals in 2005); and club coordinator of the University of Oregon Mens Ultimate Team 1992-93."
