Academic Warning

A student in satisfactory standing will be placed on Warning if he or she receives two grades of D or one grade of E (or NC) in one term. A student on Risk will be placed on Warning if he or she receives one grade of D. A student whose grades would place him or her on Warning for the third time will be placed on Probation.

Warning carries with it the following consequences:

  • the action is recorded in the student's file in the Office of the Dean of the College but not on academic records or transcripts
  • a notification letter may be sent to parents
  • students on Warning may not elect the Non-Recording Option in the next term in residence

No other restrictions are associated with being placed on Warning.
