Application Procedures

CCESP Nicaragua 2009
Recruitment Information

Information Sessions:
There will be three information sessions held this term.  All undergraduates who submit an application must attend ONE information session.   We will have  three information sessions winter term, and one in the beginning of spring term.

Winter Term:
Tuesday March 3, 2009 5 PM  in Carson L01
Thursday March 5, 2009 7 PM in Carson L01
Friday March 6, 2009  5 PM in Collis 101

Spring Term:
Tuesday March 31, 2009 6 PM  in Collis 101

Applications:
Applications will be posted electronically on Friday March 6th on the Tucker Foundation CCESP Website.  They are due at on April 3rd at 5PM by electronic submission through the online application.

Review:
Applications will be reviewed by the Application Committee which consists of CCESP leadership and Tucker Staff.  After preliminary readings, the Committee will grant interviews to selected applicants.  Those applicants who are not granted interviews will be informed that their application is no longer moving forward in the process.

Interviews:
Of the group selected for interviews, the week of April 13th we will interview those students who applied for officer position on the team.  The week of April 24th, we will interview those who applied for a participant position.  Final decisions for the team will be announced May 1st.  At that time, students will learn of their status as accepted, not accepted or waitlisted.

Officer Selection

Students may also apply for officer positions, and selections will be made by a selection committee consisting of a member of a previous trip, a Tucker staff member, and the faculty sponsors for the program. All officer applicants must have completed community service.

Available officer positions are:

  1. Project Officer
  2. Chief of Health, Education, and Practice
  3. Chief of Construction and Agriculture
  4. Chief of Operations
  5. Reflection and Cultural Affairs Officer
  6. Finance/Development Officer

Trip veterans will be given preference for the following positions:

  1. Project Officer
  2. Chief of Health, Education, and Practice
