How LIM Works

  1. Reaching out to Partner Teachers: LIM staff works at the beginning of the academic year to compile a list of interested teachers, including the courses they teach and the types of presenters they would be interested in hosting.

For more information on becoming a LIM partner teacher click here.

  2. Recruiting Dartmouth Student Presenters: LIM staff then recruits interested undergraduate presenters who have either spent time abroad or are themselves international students. Interested students must submit an application to become a presenter and take part in a short interview with LIM staff.

For more information on becoming a LIM presenter click here.

  3. Pairing and Training Presenters: Selected LIM student presenters are required to attend a series of three trainings and are paired with partner teachers (1:1 or 2:1) and expected to work with them in planning their presentation. [Note: Returning presenters must only attend the last training.]

  4. Presenting: LIM presenters must work with their partner teacher to complete at lease one presentation a term.

  5. Debriefing: At the end of the term LIM presenters are required to attend a short debriefing with LIM staff in order to reflect on their valuable LIM experience. LIM staff also seeks feedback and input from partner teachers and middle/high school students through evaluations that are completed after each presentation.
