Students Fighting Hunger

Program Description

Students Fighting Hunger (SFH) works to combat hunger in the Upper Valley and beyond. SFH seeks to raise awareness about local, national, and global hunger-related issues while meeting local needs through direct service. SFH also seeks to integrate the Dartmouth and Upper Valley Communities.

SFH coordinates Community Dinners each and every Friday (even during school interims) at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hanover. The weekly meal is free and open to anyone.

Time Commitment

• A mandatory orientation session during your first time volunteering with SFH for discussion, training, and reflection meetings
• Attendance at Friday night dinners, as needed - usually 2-3x/term

Transportation

• Volunteers are encouraged to become driver approved to purchase groceries
• Access to Tucker vehicles (after driver approved) is available and usually a carpool is arranged.
