Dartmouth Habitat For Humanity

Program Description

Dartmouth's nationally-affiliated chapter collaborates with the Upper Valley Chapter to provide affordable housing for lower income families. A typical afternoon at the site is spent hammering, sawing, aiding, painting and enjoying the outdoors. **No Experience Necessary**

BUILD AWARENESS: Volunteers develop creative ways to raise awareness on campus and in the community around affordable housing issues in the local area and help fundraise for Habitat's local building projects. There are many options for those who wish to plan fundraising activities and/or speaker events.

Time Commitment

  • Attendance at General Body meetings
  • At least 1 build per term. Blitz "Habitat" to find out about availability of spots for weekly Saturday builds
  • Additional meetings for discussion, reflection and/or planning

  • Volunteers are not required to become driver approved BUT it is STRONGLY recommended
  • Access to Tucker vehicles (after driver approved) is available and usually a carpool is arranged.
