Growing Change is a program committed to engaging volunteers in important service work with the vibrant agricultural community in the Upper Valley. The different programs engage Dartmouth students in classrooms and in fields and all work to promote a healthy and just food system.
Farm-to-School Programs: Volunteers will work with classes at Dothan Brooke Elementary School to provide weekly lessons on agriculture, healthy eating, food culture and many more exciting topics while adhering to Vermont state curriculum standards in science, math, language arts and social studies.
Farming & Gleaning Programs: Volunteers will work with Willing Hands, a local food salvage organization, to help care for the community garden at Cedar Circle Farm. All crops grown at this garden are donated to shelters and food shelves in the area. The Growing Change team will also provide support, as needed, to major gleaning events throughout the Upper Valley.
