Provision Christian Fellowship

Student Quotes

"Often it can be difficult and isolating to assert or stand by your religious beliefs. Provision provides me with an environment in which I can freely worship God in my own cultural expression, a community of prayer, love, and support, and opportunities to foster personal spiritual growth and maturity. Provision is an awesome student led ministry, that helps me to stay focused on Jesus Christ." -Kristan Lockett '03

"Provision is one of the smaller fellowships on campus, but it's evidence that a few can still gather to worship Christ in a transforming way. Because there is this intimacy in number, friendship is a given. Laughter and weeping and honesty are all a part of the coming together before each other and before God. Provision is a place to talk about how to lead a Christian life at Dartmouth. There are also times when I fall silent in brokenness here. Wherever my heart is, there is comfort in this fellowship because I am, no doubt, with friends who love Jesus." -Mindy Au '03

"Provision goes out of its way to create an atmosphere of intimacy. I can always count on being edified and encouraged in a powerful way." -Sherrie Angus '04

Description

Provision is a non-denominational ministry interested in, yet not exclusive to, edifying the Black community at Dartmouth College. It is specifically targeted to accommodate the unique needs of Black students at Dartmouth by relating to a common worship tradition. This is done by lending support in their growing relationships with Christ, while serving as a bridge to the larger Christian Community at Dartmouth College. Weekly Fellowship meets on Mondays at 8pm at the Tucker Foundation. Separate men and women's Bible studies meet weekly.

Activities

In addition to the Monday evening meetings, the primary activities that Provision focuses on are Friday night game/movie nights (every other Friday). Men and women's Bible study breakfasts Saturday mornings at 11am. Once a term Provision sponsors a weekend trip going to Boston where we can dine in the city, shop and participate in a worship service on Sunday.
