Description
Al-Nur attempts to bring together the
Muslim Community at Dartmouth. For students, faculty, and local families, Al-
Nur serves as a source of religious support, continuing education, and social
interaction. Al-Nur has etched itself a very active role in the increasingly
diverse Dartmouth community.
Activities
Daily Prayers are held in congregation at the Muslim Prayer Room in North
Fairbanks Hall. Currently, the following prayers are held in congregation:
- Zuhr: 12:15 pm
- Maghrib: After Sunset -- around 4:35pm
- Isha: 8:00 pm followed by Tarawih
Friday or Jum'aah Prayers are held at the Muslim Prayer Room in North
Fairbanks Hall. Currently the timings are:
- Khutbah : 12:15 pm
- End of Prayer : 12:30 pm
- Iftar dinners throughout Ramadan
- Outreach programs to schools in the area
- Participation in political activities for local, national, and
international causes
- Participation in ecumenical programs with other religious
organizations
