Lorissa Foster '00 will assist patients at the Missionaries of Charity in Kathmandu, Nepal. Lorissa will provide comfort to the patients and help with the general upkeep of the facilities.
Robert Kennedy '00 will help to coordinate a referral system and other related services between homeless shelters and community mental health centers for the State of Hawaii in Honolulu.
Hilary Kopple '99 will work as a teaching assistant at Chinle Boarding School, a Navajo Reservation in Many Farms, AZ. Hilary will tutor, prepare classroom materials, assist with recreational activities and supervise students in the dormitory environment.
Chrisanthy Menkhaus '00 will teach at St. Ignacius High School in Papua, New Guinea, and will provide support to the students and the community as they recover from the recent tsunami.
Erin McConnel '00 will be responsible for the planning and implementation of a new on-site food pantry at RosieÕs Place in Boston, MA. Erin will also accompany guests to off-site appointments, and sort and distribute clothing and household item donations.
Jaimie Paul '00 will work with the Humanitarian Tour Foundation located in Costa Rica where she will run a mother-child and preschool program in a small rural community. Jaimie will also help to build a new preschool building for a second community while becoming involved in health issues in both communities.
Neena Shin Ô00 will work at W.O.M.A.N. in San Francisco, CA. whose mission is to serve the needs of women who are victims of abuse. Neena will work on the hotline, assist with program statistics, documentation, and outreach to various community groups. Two Cabarete Tucker Fellowships Awarded
The Cabarete Fellowship is a continuing project in the Dominican Republic that was established in 1997 through the support of Michel Zaleski '68.
Thomas Kennedy '00 and Amy Stetson '00 will work in the Dominican Republic village of Cabarete with the Fundacion Pro Cabarete, an on-island foundation which has been a leader in initiating projects to help the local Dominicans. Each fellow will be involved with the supervision of the Cabarete Public School Library as well as student teaching at the 500 student elementary school. Tom will run the reading/comprehension/writing program, and Amy will teach English, Math and Spanish and develop after school programs.
