Outstanding Seniors and Employees Recognized at Tucker's Annual Celebration

At this spring's Annual Celebration the Tucker Foundation recognized the efforts of graduating seniors and Dartmouth College employees for their outstanding commitment to improving our community. A standing room only audience turned out to witness the presentation of the following awards:

The Lawrence Marx Jr. '36 Honor Award, "Awarded to students who have reached the farthest beyond themselves in service to others" was awarded to three seniors. The recipients were Anne E. Kanyusik '98, Andrew J. Smith '98 and Tiffany N. Taylor '98.

The Community Impact Award, "Awarded to students who have made special contributions to important issues and to building community at Dartmouth" was presented to Candace I. Crawford '98 and Meylysa J. Tseng '98.

Three seniors received the Samuel E. Aronowitz 1911 Prize, "Awarded to the Tucker Fellow who best exemplifies the spirit of the Tucker Foundation for demonstrated sensitivity to the problems of social change while carrying out a significant Fellowship assignment." The recipients were J. Katherine Milligan '98, Tina Rutar '98 and Juan Carlos Serna '98.

The Chaplains' Prize, "For open and inclusive spirituality reaching beyond one's own tradition to accompany others in study and worship" was awarded to Shirley Sperling '98.

Dartmouth Community Service Citations and Exemplary Achievement Awards were received by Maya Lodish '98, Courtney Jacobs '98, Will Scarbrough '98, Elizabeth Sumida '98, Kathryn Bienman '98, Oneika Fraser '98 and Maeve Jennings '98.

The Tucker Foundation Special Recognition, "Given for dedicated student employment as well as exhibiting outstanding community spirit" was awarded to Diane I. Gilbert '98.

The Tucker Foundation and the Office of Human Resources recognized the service of Dartmouth College employees Madeline Cattabrigia and Margaret P. Robinson for their efforts to improve our community. Madeline and Margaret received the second annual William Jewett Tucker Service Award "Given in recognition to the Dartmouth College Employee whose work on behalf of community needs best exemplifies the spirit of caring and community service we encourage among all Dartmouth Employees."
