Summer Enrichment at Dartmouth (SEAD) offers an exciting and challenging three-summer enrichment experience for high school students from economically challenged rural and urban areas. Located on the Dartmouth College campus during the summer term, SEAD works to expand the students' conception of what is possible in their lives through the building of academic knowledge, confidence, leadership skills and college aspirations. Each high school student has a Dartmouth College student mentor who devotes time to the student over the course of the summer program and stays in touch with the student once he/she has returned home. The SEAD program extends beyond the summer visits to Dartmouth's campus, sending Dartmouth students to each SEAD-affiliated high school during the winter term to work individually with SEAD students, and bringing each cohort to campus for a long weekend during the academic year. The integration of summer visits and off-season outreach are a key to SEAD's goal of changing the participants' outlook on what might be possible in their futures. Additional information may be found on the SEAD website.
