Emily Meier '05

Emily Meier, Class of 2005 from Ann Arbor, Michigan, is in her third year of service with Habitat for Humanity. In her first two years she revamped the Education program, an awareness curriculum aimed at elementary students, and co-lead that program. She participated in an Alternative Spring Break in the Spring of 2002, in which a group of Dartmouth students built a roof for a Habitat for Humanity home outside Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She developed her own background on housing issues and advocacy work through COMMUNiverITY in the Winter of 2003 and the Habitat chapter. This year Emily is chairing the Dartmouth Chapter of Habitat for Humanity,working on the chapter’s next student sponsored Habitat home (The Dartmouth House of 2004), fundraising, community partnerships, education, and spring break trips. She is an English major, studio art minor with an interest in architecture.
