“The Tucker Foundation is seen around campus as the place to go to do community service at Dartmouth. But working closely with students and staff as civic intern last winter, I realized that Tucker is so much more than that. One of my projects was to write letters and help fundraise for SEAD, the Summer Enrichment Program at Dartmouth that hosts underprivileged high school students. I was so inspired by the program that I decided to volunteer to be a mentor for the following summer. My experience with my mentee, Alicia, taught me more than any class at Dartmouth ever could I honestly believe that with all she did and leaned thorough DEA, she still made a greater impact on our lives that we did hers.
“Through social justice series and leadership seminars on top of the global outreach programs sponsored by Tucker, students leave Dartmouth College with a better sense of themselves and the world around them. The moral boost that the Foundation provides for students is invaluable and has personally uplifted me in ways I didn’t know was possible.”
