Isabel Casariego '04

Isabel Casariego, is an ’04 from Bridgewater, New Jersey. She is involved in a variety of activities on campus, from singing with the Chamber Singers to working with e Admission Office as a Senior Interviewer. She has been involved with Tucker in a variety of different ways, from participating in volunteer projects both locally ad nationally, to working as a Civic Intern within Dartmouth Community Services.

However, by far the most meaningful experience for Isabel has been her involvement with the Cross Cultural Education and Service Project. During the spring of her freshman year Dean Stuart Lord and Isabel worked together to bring the Cross Cultural Education and Service Program to Dartmouth College. The beauty of this program is the combination of service and learning in that participant’s experience. Isabel is now preparing to go on her second CCESP trip as the Project Officer, the student leader of the team.

Isabel states: “My experience in Nicaragua and all of our preparation on campus has let me learn innumerable lessons about the nature and complications of service, teamwork, and leadership. I value this experience mostly because it has allowed me to appreciate, yet move beyond the level of service. This program has challenge me as to why and how we serve and in doing so had helped to shape my fundamental beliefs as a person.”
