What should host organization expect?
The DPCS Post-Graduate Fellowship program seeks to match talented Dartmouth graduates with high-quality organizations. Just as we have high expectations of the fellows we place, we also have high expectations of our host organizations.
The program is seeking organizations that are addressing significant social issues, are innovative and effective, and are dedicated to providing a fellow with significant responsibility and excellent supervision. Participating organizations are not just vocational partners, but also partners in developing civic leadership
A Host Organization should expect to…
Support fellow’s civic leadership development.
Host Organizations are asked to provide opportunities for fellows to learn about the organization, its structure and its role in the community. In addition, fellows may need to be excused occasionally in order to particulate in education seminars or other professional development opportunities organized by the DPCS Post-Graduate Fellowship Program.
Provide fellows with meaningful work, a challenging experience and quality supervision.
Dartmouth DPCS Post-Graduate Fellows are smart, thoughtful and talented individuals. In order for them to have a positive fellowship experience, they need to be given significant responsibility on meaningful projects. They are also new professionals, and will need guidance and direction in the form of quality supervision to be at their best. With meaningful work and attentive supervision, we are confident that DPCS Fellows will rise to the challenge of making a significant contribution to the work and mission of your organization.
Provide minimum stipend and health benefits
Host organizations are required to provide a minimum stipend of $30,000 and health benefits at no cost to the fellow. More information about the stipend requirements can be found
here.
Meet Program Deadlines
The DPCS Post-Graduate Program is a partnership between the program, alumni volunteers and our host organizations. In order to provide the best program we can, we ask that host organizations meet program deadlines and timetables.
