Granger Award

The Granger '18 Award was named in honor of Mr. Lester Granger, a 1918 Dartmouth graduate who dedicated his life to education, racial equality, and public service. The award was first given during the weekend celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Tucker Foundation. In 2004 the Tucker Foundation began a partnership with the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity, granting the Granger '18 Award in conjunction with the annual awarding of the Martin Luther King Social Justice Awards.

In determining who should receive the Award, the Granger Award Selection Committee seeks a graduate whose commitment to public service illustrates leadership, innovation in meeting community needs and produces outcomes that benefit an underserved population. A nominee's service may be in either a voluntary or professional capacity. Consideration will also be given to the duration of the commitment and the extent to which it is un- or under-recognized through other channels. Please use the links to your left to view recipients of the award.

Please use this nomination form to nominate an alum who you feel is a strong candidate to receive this award.
