Julia Roper '15
Student Director of Tucker Fellowships
Hometown: Lynden, WARead the full interview
As the Tucker Foundation engages in the work of forming two new centers on campus, some programs are taking a "year off" from our schedule. One such program is "What Matters to Me and Why," which has offered an enjoyable, unstructured lunch discussion with a member of the Dartmouth faculty (or staff). Our speakers are encouraged to speak from a personal perspective about their passions, current work, or life experiences. The Tuesday noon luncheons, held in Tucker's living room, have aimed to generate discussion between students and faculty, promote student/faculty relations within the community, and open the doors of the Foundation to those who many not be familiar with its programs.
A new and improved "What Matters to Me and Why" program will reconvene starting Fall 2015. In the meantime, if you would like to find out more about this program, nominate a speaker for the future, or just share your ideas, contact Nancy Vogele '85.
