How have your Tucker experiences affected you?
I am grateful to be surrounded by a whole foundation of staff, student directors, and group members who are passionate about serving the common good. I am constantly interacting with and learning about important issues around me and people who care about them. Working at Tucker has reminded me about the importance of service and enabled me to dedicate time to my passion for connecting with and serving the community.
What do you love about Tucker Leaders in Community (TLC)?
I love that I get to learn from TLC just like the '16s are; I've met community members and visited new places too. I love working with first-year students who are dedicated to service, and I love that I get to help facilitate that interest and develop their understanding of how to best serve our community.
What would you say to a student who is trying to get involved at Tucker?
Just jump in! It can be hard to make the leap from seeing blitzes to signing up and actually going to serve, but once you start going you'll become comfortable and be really glad to be involved! Also, go ahead and schedule a meeting with a Tucker staff member just to chat and ask any questions, that also helps bridge the gap.
What is one fun fact about you?
I was born on Friday the 13th.
