Adam Knowlton-Young joined the Tucker Foundation staff in August 2012 as the Program Manager for Service Trips. His chief areas of responsibility are administering Alternative Spring Break (ASB) trips, the Cross Cultural Service and Education (CCESP) program, and the Tucker Leaders in Community (TLC) program.
Prior to joining the Tucker Foundation, from 2006 to 2011 Adam worked for North Shore Community Mediation Center in Beverly, MA, a non-profit committed to using conflict resolution as an avenue for empowerment, transformation, social change and personal growth. As the Program Manager for Mediation Services, Adam administered a variety of volunteer mediation programs in several area courts as well as in the surrounding communities, and was an active trainer and mediator as well. Adam completed a M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs in May 2012 from Salem State University in Salem, MA, and brings valuable knowledge, skills, and experience related to holistic student development. Adam also holds a M.A. in Asian Studies from the University of Hawaii (UH), Manoa, specializing in Southeast Asia and specifically Indonesia. At UH Manoa Adam was also a Graduate Affiliate at the East West Center, a Federally funded research center committed to facilitating cross-cultural understanding in the Asia-Pacific region. Adam completed a B.A. at the University of Vermont.
