Lindsey Green joined the Tucker Foundation staff in June 2012. Lindsey serves as the Service and Education Coordinator working with the SEAD (Summer Enrichment at Dartmouth) and LIM (Language in Motion) programs.
Before coming to the Tucker Foundation, Lindsey served for two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in The Gambia (West Africa). Lindsey worked in her small rural village to implement a variety of community health education projects which ranged from peer health clubs at local schools speaking to middle and high school students about life skills and sexual and reproductive health, two regional HIV education bike treks and a women's health education competition which reached 120 mothers in her village. When not working Lindsey enjoyed spending time with her host family, visiting and joking with friends around the village, learning Gambian dance moves, and eating copious amounts of whatever fruit was in season. A 2008 graduate of Beloit College (WI), Lindsey majored in International Relations and minored in African Studies. In her time at Beloit she spent semesters abroad in Senegal and Uganda, and was active in student government and voter awareness projects. After graduation she was an educational assistant at Burlington High School (VT) working in a supported study hall with special education and ESOL students.
Lindsey is excited to build on her experiences with community development and volunteerism through her work with colleagues, undergraduates, and high school students at the Tucker Foundation.
