Peggy Epstein Tanner '79 worked at Chemical Bank and Morgan Stanley for more than a decade before dedicating herself to her work with numerous nonprofits. She is the chair of the board of Seeds of Peace and recently stepped down as vice chair of the board of Blythedale Children's Hospital, where she continues to serve on its board. In addition, she is president emeritus and a founding board member of The Summer Camp, which provides girls from low-income families and foster homes with a sleep-away camp experience. Tanner has served on the boards of FoodPatch, the United Way of Harrison/Purchase, and Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic.
At Dartmouth, Tanner is a member of the board of trustees. She has served as chairman of the Tucker Foundation's Board of Visitors and of the Alumni Council Nominating Committee, as head agent, and as a member of the President's Leadership Council. She is the only member of the alumni body to have received Dartmouth's Young Alumni Award and Dartmouth's Alumni Award and to be inducted into the Stephen F. Mandel '52 Society.
She and her husband, David, reside in New York City and have three sons.
