Peggy Epstein Tanner '79 worked at Chemical Bank and Morgan Stanley for more than a decade before dedicating herself to her work with numerous nonprofits. She is the chair of the board of Seeds of Peace and recently stepped down as vice chair of the board of Blythedale Children's Hospital, where she continues to serve on its board. In addition, she is president emeritus and a founding board member of The Summer Camp, which provides girls from low-income families and foster homes with a sleep-away camp experience. Tanner has served on the boards of FoodPatch, the United Way of Harrison/Purchase, and Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic.

At Dartmouth, Tanner is a member of the Board of Trustees and is Co-chair of the current Capital Campaign, "The Call to Lead." She has served as chairman of the Tucker Foundation's Board of Visitors and of the Alumni Council Nominating Committee, as head agent, and as a member of the President's Leadership Council. She has been awarded Dartmouth's Young Alumni Award and Dartmouth's Alumni Award and has been inducted into the Stephen F. Mandel '52 Society.

She and her husband, David, reside in New York City and have three sons.
