Trevor Rees-Jones, is president and CEO of Chief Oil & Gas LLC. After practicing oil and gas reorganization law with Thompson & Knight in Dallas, Mr. Rees-Jones entered the oil and gas business in 1984. Since then, he has been active as an independent in oil and gas exploration and production, founding several companies, including Chief Oil & Gas LLC, which was an early operator in the Barnett Shale play in North Texas. Chief continues as a private independent oil and gas company, with activity throughout the U.S. Rees-Jones formerly served as president of both the Dallas Petroleum Club and the Dallas Hardhatters Committee (now the Dallas Wildcatters Committee). He is a member of Texas Christian University Board of Trustees, Texas Christian University Energy Institute's Board of Advisors, Highland Park Presbyterian Church and the Dallas Country Club. Along with his wife, Mr. Rees-Jones founded The Rees-Jones Foundation in 2006 to support programs in the North Texas area aimed at helping the underserved in the areas of medical care, educational opportunities, housing, and economic and spiritual advancement.
Rees-Jones earned his AB in History from Dartmouth College and a JD from Southern Methodist University Law School. Mr. and Mrs. Rees-Jones live in Dallas and have two sons, Trevor R. and David.
