Ed Haldeman is a 30-year veteran of the financial services industry who recently stepped down from Putnam Investments, where he was Chairman of Putnam Investment Management, LLC, a Trustee of the Putnam Funds since 2004 and President of the Funds since 2007. Prior to becoming Chairman, Haldeman served as President and Chief Executive Officer from November 2003 to June 2008, and as Co-Head of Putnam Investments' Investment Division from 2002 to 2003. From 2000 to 2002, Haldeman served as Chief Executive Officer of Delaware Investments and from 1998 to 2000 as President and Chief Operating Officer of United Asset Management Corporation. Haldeman was also a partner and director of Cooke & Bieler, Inc., an investment management firm, from 1974 to 1998. Haldeman currently is Chair of the Board of Trustees of Dartmouth College, and serves on the Tuck School Business Board of Overseers, and the Harvard Business School Board of Dean's Advisors. He is also a member of the Investment Committee of Partners Healthcare. He earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar, a J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School, and an A.B. summa cum laude from Dartmouth College. Haldeman is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.
