~Current Gamma Gamma Chapter News~
For this issue of the newsletter, we asked each Officer to write a short blurb on what they have been up to over the last few terms.

Administration Team

Vice President of Administration - Heather Keifer '04
Fall term seemed to fly by, but TriDeltas were involved in many great activities. We sponsored a Big Brother/Big Sister pumpkin painting event, and a few sisters decorated cookies with the kids too. Several sisters also participated in a sexual assault awareness panel and discussion for the freshmen in the river cluster. Additionally, we were able to co-sponsor a SHEBA performance, the Homecoming tailgate party, and a CHaD benefit concert.

House Manager - Joanna Lins '04
The house was really cleaned up this term thanks to House Cleanup efforts and a few other volunteers. The basement storage area was cleaned out and reorganized to allow more space for new storage and to meet safety standards. The house also tidied up the kitchen a little bit to make room for some new pots and pans for cooking!

Chapter Development Team

Vice President Chapter Development - Lauren Wondolowski '04
This was a great fall term for TriDelt! I loved having a term, my first as a sister, where we didn't have rush and could instead just concentrate on the current sisters. We had a great tea talk with Jan Tarjan, director of community service projects for the Tucker Foundation. She related stories of what it was like to be in one of the first classes at Dartmouth to graduate women. We enjoyed getting to meet some of the eager '06 potential new members through two different pre-rush events. After meeting them and doing much rush planning, we are all getting excited for our winter new member class! It will be nice to have them fill up and energize the house, as the majority of our '05 class will be off campus next term.

Continuing Education Chair - Lindsey Aponte '04
I made two presentations to the chapter this term to further the knowledge of the sisterhood. In the first presentation we worked to improve our singing of "Alpha Theta Phi," and then in the second event we explored some chapter facts with "Delta Trivia."

Academic Chair - Meredith Liu '04
I continued with Smart Cookies (homemade of course) at every meeting to recognize the sisters who achieved significant academic accomplishments in the previous weeks. Our chapter has many sisters who are successful in their academic, intellectual, and professional pursuits, and it is always a joy to recognize them at meetings. I also sent out a more private recognition (a "Smarty Pants" congratulations in Hinman Boxes) to sisters who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.7 or higher. We had two study breaks at the house, one before midterms and one before finals, which were a great chance for sisters to come together and take a breather from their hard work. Finally, we hosted a Professor-Student Ice Cream social with the brother of Chi Gamma Epsilon fraternity. Though it was a small gathering, it was well enjoyed by those who attended. I am very excited to further improve the academic life of the house in the winter term.

Finance Team

Vice President of Finance - Becky MacDonell '04
We are working toward the goal of every sister remaining in good standing in the chapter by more strictly enforcing the 30-60-90 deadlines and working closely with the national Tridelta organization. In addition, we hope that the new budget will allow for more sisters-only events and increase our ability to support cultural and philanthropy events on campus. The house also is looking into implementing a more strict fining policy that would ease some of the financial burdens on the house. This legislation is still under consideration and awaits a vote of the chapter.

Public Relations Team

Panhell Representatives - DeAnna Fernandez '04, Gina Ferrie '04, Allison Swindell '04
This term Panhellenic Council jointly sponsored a campaign with Center for Women and Gender, and the Women of Color Collective entitled "Women Supporting Women at Dartmouth," which was focused on raising awareness of women's organizations on Dartmouth's Campus. We also sold T-shirts in order to raise money for Women's Information Service (WISE). Finally, we've been very busy this term preparing for Winter Rush and the New Member Education Events.

Philanthropy Chair - Ali Kelley '04

No Report.

Formal Chair - Priti Rao '04
Trying something new, our fall formal was held at Ascutney. Hor d'ouevres were served at the house beforehand and the buses promptly picked us up 6:00. We arrived to the venue and enjoyed a buffet dinner. Tridelt sisters seemed to have no problem dancing all night to DJ Rockin' Lou.

Risk Management Chair - Jen Rackliff '04
As the risk manager I gave two presentations during meetings this term. Our first presentation/discussion was about the importance of sleep and what happens to you, your body and your mind if you don't get enough. I passed out tips for better sleeping habits. The second presentation was about alcohol safety and how much is too much. At the meeting, I handed out BAC Level cards.

Membership Team

VP Member Development - Ingrid Swanson '04
This fall was a great term for sisterhood within the house, as the smaller number of classes allowed us all to get to know each other a bit better. The '05s brought a lot of energy to the term, a leftover legacy from the excitement of their sophomore summer, while the '04s returned to campus relaxed and rejuvenated for their senior fall. We kicked off the term with a celebration of the wonderful autumn atmosphere: apple picking in West Lebanon and an ambitious pie-baking session. It was a great afternoon of exploiting our "Delta-Baking" reputation, and the delicious products of our labor made it all worthwhile! Later in the term, we had "Delta Night at the Movies," and a group of sisters traveled to the Lebanon movie theaters to see Elf. With bags of candy and snacks, we had a great time overtaking the theater and enjoying the venture away from campus. Our final sisters-only event of the term offered a break from finals stress. We had a home-cooked meal (a la Ingrid) "catered" at the house, and more than half the sisters on campus gathered together for a celebration of finals madness and end-of-the-term good cheer! Overall it was a great term, with many sisters coming together at events, getting to know each other, and enjoying their time together!

Alumni Relations Chair - Kelly Cameron '04
This fall we celebrated Founder's Day with a light lunch at the house with make-you-own sandwiches, veggies and dip, punch, and a TriDelta cake for dessert. I had each of the members on standards read about the four founders of Delta Delta Delta so that we learned the founding story of the Alpha chapter. This term we also continued the Pen Pal program initiated over the summer. For some pairs the program has been very successful, but other members and alumni are disappointed by the lack of communication. This winter I hope to provide some prompting questions and topics for pairs to talk about. I also continue to update the Alumni Database and keep the website current. We've added a number of alumni over the past couple months, and we hope that even more alumni will become a part of the database. If you want to check to see if you are a part of the database or would like to join, just blitz "gammagamma" or me.

VP Membership -Amanda Posner '04
This fall has been spent in preparation for rush 2004. We anticipate a large rushee class and have been planning accordingly. Our two themes this year will be a Vegas Casino night for Round 1 and an 80's Prom theme for Round 2. Winter '04 rush will take place Jan. 9-20. It's a lot of work, but we can't wait to meet our new pledge class and we hope they will enjoy Tridelta as much as we do!

~Housing~
This is a new section for the newsletter that will allow current sisters and alumni to contact each other about renting opportunities in cities across the country. If you are looking for a place to live or are looking for a roommate send in your request to gammagamma@dartmouth.edu.

Washington, DC: Simone Swink '98 says if you're looking for housing in DC to contact her via blitz.

Albany Region: Sarah Garaas '02 lives by herself in a 2 bedroom apt. and is open to sharing. Feel free to contact her if you're headed in that direction.

~Alumnae Updates~
Recently, several of our alums sent in updates on activities they've been involved in, new jobs they've taken, etc. Thank you all for responding, people seem really busy! ** If you have a piece of news you'd like to share with your fellow Deltas and would like to include it in our next newsletter, please email gammagamma@dartmouth.edu **

Her husband, Sherard Ware of Bates College, is also studying at U. Syd. and will be finishing his dual degree, a Masters in International Business and Information Systems in July 2004. They were married May 19th, 2001.
