Who We Are
Our Research Team

Carl Renshaw, Celia Chen
The Dartmouth Toxic Metals Research program includes scientists, postdoctoral and graduate students, and technical and support staff from Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire. We also collaborate with researchers at other universities and government agencies.
Our research group is investigating the ways arsenic and other toxic metals in the environment affect ecosystems and human health. We are also training students to work in interdisciplinary research teams, and we are collaborating with state and federal agencies to communicate our knowledge of environmental science to the public.

Our group includes individuals who specialize in more than two dozen fields of study. Our principal areas of expertise include:
- pharmacology
- toxicology
- analytical chemistry
- molecular biology
- aquatic ecology
- human epidemiology
Focusing on a common research problem allows us both to draw on each other's specialized knowledge and to see our individual projects in the context of a "big picture."
