Vietnam Nguyen - 4th gup blue belt
Biography:
I started TKD sophomore fall for the PE credit. At first it was sort of
intimidating with the new language, techniques, and customs. However, the
friendly atmosphere and the beauty of the martial arts drew me in.
Where are you from
(country? state? city? planet?), where did you grow up?
Texas! I was born and raised in Texas my entire life, which my accent
might occasionally give away. My mind, however, is frequently lost in
space somewhere during exam weeks.
Other interests:
Other clubs I am involved in include UNICEF (child's health organization),
DREAM (mentoring program), VSA (Vietnamese club), and NCSC (honors
society). I'm also doing laboratory research in the psychology department
with mice, working towards the Presidential Scholars Program. (If anyone
is interested in any of these programs/clubs, feel free to give me a
blitz).
I'm looking
forwards to a career in medicine. I've taken many science classes at
Dartmouth, volunteered at health centers, shadowed physicians, and done
research in pathology. Yes, I'm a science nerd. : )
A weird quirk:
Where do I even begin? I put ketchup on almost everything (except eggs
oddly), earning myself the distinguished title of "ketchup fiend" by my
freshman floor mates. I am a big fan of cartoons, including "X-Men," "Dragonball
Z," "Pokemon," "Batman Beyond," and "Powerpuff Girls." Plus, I have an
irregular sleeping schedule, often staying up way into the night just
wasting time. |
