Carl P. Choquette is a graduate of New England College with a major in technical theater and a minor in fine furniture making. He worked as properties master for Intiman's Classical Theatre in Seattle building period props and furniture and has served as a scenic carpenter and properties artisan for companies such as the Long Wharf Theatre and the Pacific Conservatory for the Performing Arts. His work has graced the stages of the Seattle Repertory Theatre, the Empty Space Theatre and the Santa Fe Opera, among others. In the movie industry, Carl built several sets and props for 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros. and Centell Productions as Lead Carpenter. At present, Carl is in his fifteenth year at Dartmouth College as Master Carpenter/Assistant Technical Director for the Theater Department, designing as well as mentoring his students in sets, props, and painting. Locally, he has designed sets, lights, and costumes for the Parish Player’s productions of Happy Days by Samuel Beckett in April of 2008 and Sam Shepard’s Curse of the Starving Class in August of 2009. He is dedicated to the craft of fine furniture, period architecture, and New England house construction, as well as mentoring students in the arts of stagecraft.
