Christian has worked on Broadway, off-Broadway, and the regional theater circuit for the last twelve years. He worked at the Goodman, Steppenwolf, Court, Shakespeare Rep, the Next and numerous other theaters in Chicago and St. Louis for ten years before that. He has toured Shakespeare internationally, playing Hal in Henry V. He has taught acting at Northern Illinois University, where he received an MFA in Acting. He was resident teacher at the Chicago Center for the Performing Arts as well as Josephine Forsberg's Players Workshop and the Court Theatre's Outreach program. He was a founding member of Excalibur Productions Theatre in St. Louis.
Christian has studied with Billie Whitelaw (English film and stage star), Catherine Gately (GatleyPoole Conservatory NY), Gene Terruso (American Academy of the Arts, Philadelphia Academy of the Arts) and Sanford Meisner. He is a company member at St. Michael's Playhouse as well as Northern Stage. At Dartmouth, he is a Lecturer in the Theater Department and also teaches a class in science communication in Graduate Studies. He is an affiliate of the Alan Alda Center for Science Communication.
