Savory Hoisin Fish
Adapted from recipe in Moosewood Restaurant Low-fat Favorites
- 1 lb. fish filets or steaks
(catfish, perch, snapper, or other white fish)
Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons miso
- 2 tablespoons sake or dry sherry
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime or lemon juice
- 1 1/2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger root
Garnish:
- thinly sliced green onions
- thinly sliced red bell pepper strips
- sesame seeds

Toast sesame seed in small pan with no oil over medium heat. Do not let them burn.
Whisk sauce ingredients in bowl. Place fish skin-side down in a lightly oiled backing
dish. Pour sauce evenly over fish. Cover.
Bake fish 25-30 minutes at 350°. Sprinkle with garnish ingredients. Serve.
Serving suggestion: serve with rice and green salad
