November is come and gone, the turkey has been devoured, and now I find myself in the headlong rush to the end of the millenium. Sounds final, doesn't it? Actually, I'm more stressed out by the approach of Christmas than I am by the approach of Y2K. Only in January will I be able to catch my breath.
The big event of November was Karen's sighting of her 600th ABA bird species, a Black-headed Gull at Salisbury Beach, Massachusetts. She has been hanging at 599 for the past few months. We're both lucky in the sense that our milestone birds have been actual sightings, not species splits by the AOU powers-that-be.
I'll be off to San Jose for a couple of days this month for some training, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to do much visiting. I guess some friends will just have to come out here if they want to see us!
That's all for now. Enjoy the holidays, and don't get too paranoid about Y2K!
