The early arrival of spring weather in March was followed by a relapse in April. It snowed and stuck as recently as yesterday. The leafing out of the trees and the return of the birds has been put hold. I want spring!
Our garden is all planned out, but it's been too muddy to rototill and too cold to plant. Last year we did our first wave of planting two weekends before this time. We're especially anxious because we want the cool season harvest to be done before our June vacation. Maybe we'll have to jettison some of the cool season plans.
The redpolls are still here, enjoying the extended winter. The Bohemian Waxwings were back on campus last week, so they're enjoying the cool weather, too.
Maybe my next posted message will be full of flowers and warblers and black flies!
