Fine Cut
The picture is basically done; audio editing is maybe 70% there. I still have to gather more foley sounds and finalize the levels for the whole project. Running time stands at about 20 minutes.
All film back from lab…
The last 1900 feet arrived yesterday (nearly an hour’s worth). If the final product is 16-18 minutes long, that means my overall shooting ratio should end up at about 4.5:1 or 5.5:1. I might have gone overboard on gathering b-roll footage that will never make it into the final cut, but at least all the crucial shots are in place [mostly] succesfully, as reshoots aren’t even an option on this project…
Production Finished
All remaining footage (1900 feet) was sent to the lab today. Sound editing continues…
Principal Photography Wrapped (day 7)
Principal photography wrapped yesterday on a small island in southern Maine. Only a few pickup shots remain, and then I can send all the footage (will probably total 1700 feet) off to the lab for processing and transfer. Meanwhile, I’m going to begin dubbing sound for the nine minutes of footage I’ve already edited…
Three days left of production…

Meanwhile, I’ve been editing the 1000 feet of footage that has been processed and transferred. I have a silent rough cut; with approximately half of the scenes yet to be shot, it stands at about 9 minutes, which seems about in line with my predicted length of 15-20 minutes…
Halfway there
The first 1000 feet of footage is on its way to the lab.
