SURF is a Research Experience for Undergraduates Site funded by the Department of Defense ASSURE (Awards to Stimulate and Support Undergraduate Research Experiences) Program with funds
administered by the National Science Foundation (NSF)..

THE SURF CLASS FOR THIS YEAR HAS BEEN SELECTED. IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION, I REGRET TO SAY THAT MEANS YOU HAVE NOT BEEN SELECTED FOR THE PROGRAM THIS SUMMER.

Come and experience what it is like to work in a state-of-the-art life sciences research lab in one of the most beautiful areas of the country.

In addition to your research experience, SURF students participate in career development activities where you'll learn about the process of applying to graduate school, including the opportunity to ask members of our graduate admissions committee questions.  You will get the chance to meet with Ph.D. and M.D./Ph.D. students and to experience life as a graduate student. There are opportunities to present your work to other students and professors.  There is also a seminar discussing ethics in science.  And of course, we'll have some fun activities to introduce you to New England.
