He brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Big Green. From 1988-97, Gibson was the varsity golf coach at Kearsarge Regional High School. In addition, he was assistant men's basketball coach at Colby-Sawyer College in 1995 and 1996; assistant women's basketball coach for the Chargers in 1994; and varsity girls basketball coach at Mascoma Valley Regional High from 1983-85. Past president of the New Hampshire chapter of the New England PGA and formerly the state's representative to the NEPGA executive committee, Gibson was a member of the N.H. Intercollegiate Athletic Association's golf committee. During the spring of 1998, he coached Dartmouth to a pair of third places finishes at the Ivy League Championship and the Boston College Invitational. In April, 1999, Dartmouth won its first team title since 1993, coming from behind on the final nine to win the Boston College Invitational. During the fall of 2000, the Big Green had three runner-up finishes, including one at the prestigious Tina Barrett/Longwood Invitational. Gibson and his wife, Joni, live in Georges Mills, N.H. |
