Jeff Frechette
Jeff Frechette began his career at Dartmouth in August of 1981, as an
assistant athletic trainer. In 1994 he was selected to succeed Fred Kelly
as Dartmouth's Head Athletic Trainer. Over the course of his 20 years at
Dartmouth he has worked directly with many of the men's and women's athletic
teams, including baseball, men's and women's lacrosse and men's and women's
crew. He worked closely for 9 seasons with the men's soccer program. Today
his responsibilities include working directly with varsity football and
the men's ice hockey team, as well as overseeing a staff of 7 certified
athletic trainers, who are responsible for providing primary athletic health
care to 34 varsity athletic teams which includes over 1000 men and women
student athletes.
A graduate of West Chester State College in West Chester Pennsylvania,
Frechette received his bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education,
with a concentration in Athletic Training. He earned his Master's degree
in Public Health Administration/Education from James Madison University
in Harrisonburg Virginia.
Frechette worked as a volunteer with the United States Olympic committee
serving as a staff athletic trainer at Olympic Festivals in North Carolina
in 1987 and in Oklahoma in 1989. He also served on the National Athletic
Trainer's Association's Educational Multimedia committee for six years.
Currently he is a member of the College Hockey Medical Society.
A Vermont native, Frechette grew up in nearby Woodstock Vermont. He,
his wife Patty, and son Greg (14) now live in Wilder, Vermont. |
Barbara Sibun
Barbara is in her 14th year as a member of the Sports Medicine staff.
Originally from Connecticut, Barbara received her B.S. in Education with
a concentration in Athletic Training in 1985 from the University of Connecticut.
In 1985-86, she served an internship as an Athletic Trainer at Dartmouth.
Barbara received her M.S. in Athletic Training from Indiana State University
in July 1987; the same month she became certified by the NATA. Before returning
to Dartmouth, Barbara spent two years as the Athletic Trainer at The Morgan
School in Clinton, Connecticut. Here at Dartmouth she has worked with many
of the athletic teams including: men's lacrosse, women's volleyball, squash,
football, field hockey, women's tennis, baseball and women's basketball.
Barbara has also been involved with the Dartmouth Health Service's Quality
Improvement Committee including a year as the secretary of the committee.
She also serves on the Dartmouth Health Service Web Committee. In addition
to her responsibilities at the college, she has been involved with numerous
sport camps and clinics. At the state level, Barbara has served on the New
Hampshire Athletic Trainers' Association Executive Board since March 1996.
She holds the position of treasurer. In her free time Barbara enjoys snow
skiing, bicycling, sailing and traveling. |
Mark Legacy
Mark begins his ninth year on the Sports Medicine staff at Dartmouth
College. He is presently responsible for men's soccer, women's basketball,
men's and women's tennis, and the men's rowing teams. Mark received his
Bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine from Keene State College and his Master's
degree in Exercise Science from the University of Maine. Prior to joining
the staff at Dartmouth, Mark served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Saint
Joseph's College in Windham, Maine. During his time in Maine he was actively
involved in the state's athletic training association, serving on the state's
licensure committee and accepting the nomination of president of the Maine
Athletic Trainers' Association. Mark has recently served on the New Hampshire
State's Athletic Trainers Governing Board. He has been a member of the NATA
since 1990. He volunteers as the Medical Director for the Annual Special
Olympics of New Hampshire Basketball Tournament. Mark resides in Thetford,
Vt. with his daughter, Jordan, 5 years. Mark is an avid runner and enjoys
most activities involving the outdoors. |
Scott Roy
Scott is in his fifth year as an assistant athletic trainer here at Dartmouth.
He is working with the football, and men's and women's indoor and outdoor
track and field teams. A native of Gorham, New Hampshire Scott did his undergraduate
schooling at Springfield College with a double major in athletic training
and secondary physical education. While at Springfield Scott participated
in athletics as a member of the varsity basketball team. From Springfield
Scott moved on to a masters of science program in exercise science at the
University of Massachusetts at Amherst. At UMass he worked as a graduate
assistant athletic trainer with the varsity football, men's gymnastics and
baseball teams. During this time he also did personal training through the
Hampshire Fitness Club in Amherst. In 1996 Scott took a position as associate
athletic trainer at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. While at MIT
he worked with virtually all of the 39 Div. III intercollegiate teams they
fielded. Scott provided primary coverage for football, men's basketball
and baseball. Scott and his wife Amy currently reside in Grantham NH. He
gets up into the White Mountains to hike whenever possible and has an interest
in many other recreational and outdoor activities including golf, mountain
biking, snowboarding and rock climbing. |
Sharon Price
Sharon Price joined the Dartmouth College Sports Medicine Department
in the fall of 2000. A 1996 graduate of East Carolina University, Sharon
earned her Bachelors of Science in Worksite Health Promotion with an emphasis
in Athletic Training. Sharon worked as a certified athletic trainer at Cape
Coral and Fort Myers, Florida Hospitals. She provided athletic training
services in Outpatient Physical Therapy and Outreach to Lee County High
Schools. She earned her Masters of Education from Salisbury State University
in 2000. At Dartmouth College Sharon works with Field Hockey, Alpine Ski,
Nordic Ski and Women's Lacrosse. She is also a member of the Eating Disorder
Awareness Program for Dartmouth College Health Services |
Rebecca Frechette
Rebecca Frechette is in her second year as a member of the Dartmouth
Athletic Training staff. A native to the area, she grew up in White River
Junction, Vermont. She received a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine
from Lyndon State College in 1998. At Lyndon she worked with a multitude
of collegiate and high school sports teams and also did two internships
at physical therapy clinics. After receiving her certification in Athletic
Training, Rebecca accepted a two year graduate assistantship position at
Western Michigan University. At Western Michigan she worked with men's and
women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's track
and field, football, and gymnastics while receiving her Master of Arts in
Physical Education with a specialization in Athletic Training. After graduate
school she took a position at Culver-Stockton College in Missouri where
she had a 50-50 split position of teaching and athletic training. Following
the variety of experiences, she was presented with the opportunity to move
back to her hometown and work at Dartmouth College. At Dartmouth Rebecca
is the athletic trainer for women's soccer, softball, women's crew and men's
and women's swimming and diving. Rebecca is currently an adjunct instructor
at Colby0Sawyer College, teaching two mornings a week. In her spare time
she enjoys running, hiking, skiing and traveling. |
Jeannee Wainscott
Jeannee Wainscott joined the Dartmouth Athletic Training Staff in August
2001. Originally from California, she received her Bachelor of Science in
Exercise Physiology from the University of California, Davis in 1999. At
Davis she worked closely with the men's soccer, tennis, baseball, and football
teams. After becoming certified, she took a year off from school and established
a head athletic training position at Yuba City High School and worked closely
with the UC Davis men's rugby team. In a desire to travel to the mid-west
she received her Master of Science in Kinesiology from Indiana University.
At Indiana she worked with the men's and women's swimming teams and piloted
an athletic training position for the men's rugby club. Deciding to travel
further east and excited to work with the Dartmouth rugby clubs she accepted
a position at Dartmouth College. At Dartmouth she works with the men's and
women's rugby clubs, men's basketball, and outdoor track. In her spare time
she enjoys skiing, cycling, hiking, and traveling. |
