Spanish Language Placement Procedures

In accordance with the department and the First Year Program, students are placed into Spanish classes in the following manner:

Students without standardized test scores:

• Students who have had one or two years of high school Spanish register for Spanish 1;
• Students who have had three or more years of high school Spanish register for Spanish 2.

Students with SAT II scores

Students with AP scores

Students with British A-Level or with IB scores

Departmental Placement Exam
