Before Dartmouth: Owen attended Hart High School in Newhall, Calif. There she was named both the best defensive player and most inspirational. Owen was named to the All-Foothill and All-SCV first team and was named Hart High School's most valuable varsity player. She played last summer with the California Choppers 18 Gold. In 1996, Owen was a member of the national champion Stealth team.
